Santiago, Chile – November 3, 2025. Grupo Falabella announced changes in the leadership of its Home Improvement and Supermarket business units in Chile.
The company reported that Sebastián Simonetti, currently General Manager of Tottus Chile, will take on the challenge of leading Sodimac Chile starting January 1, 2026, replacing Eduardo Mizon. Meanwhile, the group’s supermarket chain, Tottus, will be led in Chile by Renato Giarola, who will add this role to his current responsibilities as Regional Business Manager and General Manager of Peru.
“I would like to highlight the arrival of Sebastián Simonetti at Sodimac, who has a solid track record in the retail industry. We are confident that his leadership skills and deep knowledge of the Home Improvement sector will be a great asset for the challenges he will face in his new role,” said Alejandro González, Corporate General Manager of Grupo Falabella.
Simonetti holds a Civil Engineering degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He has over a decade of experience at Grupo Falabella, where, in addition to leading Tottus Chile, he has headed both physical and digital areas: he served as Operations Manager at Sodimac Chile, Corporate Digital Retail Manager at Sodimac, and Planning and Development Manager at both Tottus and Sodimac. During his time at Tottus, he played a key role in transforming the business’s value proposition, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, operational efficiency, and omnichannel experience.
On the other hand, González highlighted Renato Giarola’s leadership and the opportunities presented by his dual role as Corporate and Chile General Manager: “Over the past nearly two years that Renato Giarola has led Tottus, he has significantly improved our supermarket’s value proposition and customer experience, resulting in profitable growth in both Chile and Peru. I am confident that his track record and focus will continue to be a great contribution to unlocking the full potential of this business, now also through direct management in Chile.”
Giarola has served as Corporate General Manager of Tottus since December 1, 2023. He is Brazilian, a Civil Engineer, and has over 26 years of experience in the retail and food sectors, having worked at companies such as Lojas 1A99, Dia, and Grupo Pão de Açúcar. “His experience in the digital space is key to continuing to advance our omnichannel strategy, which is at the heart of the Group’s strategy, further strengthening the Tottus brand,” added González.
