Santiago, December 23, 2024. For the second consecutive year, Grupo Falabella -Falabella Retail, Sodimac, Tottus, Banco Falabella and Mallplaza- has been recognized as one of the ten most sustainable companies in the world in the retailing category according to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). This achievement positions the company as the most sustainable in Chile and the second most sustainable in Latin America in the retailing category.

In its ninth participation, Grupo Falabella consolidated its presence in DJSI 2024, being one of the two Chilean companies present in the World index, in addition to being part of the MILA and Chile indexes. This year the company ranked 6th globally in the retailing category, standing out within the top 2% of more than 450 companies evaluated. This is thanks to its performance in key areas such as labor practices, customer relations, cybersecurity and climate strategy, demonstrating the company’s commitment to a sustainable business model that generates social, environmental and economic value.

Daniela Bertoglia, Grupo Falabella’s Corporate Sustainability Manager, said: “This recognition reaffirms our commitment to integrate sustainability transversally into Grupo Falabella’s business strategy, generating environmental and social value for society and all our stakeholders. In the face of growing challenges, we are proud to see how our constant effort translates into tangible results and progress recognized by the market.”

During 2024, the company made significant progress in its sustainability strategy, which encompasses five key pillars of action – Climate action; Circularity and waste; Diversity, equity and inclusion; Social impact; and Corporate governance – transversal to all its business units. This materialized in actions in various areas, including the replacement of refrigeration equipment for more efficient ones in Tottus supermarkets, adherence to the Clean Production Agreement (APL) for e-commerce packaging in Falabella Retail, the publication of its Tax Policy and progress in the process of due diligence in Human Rights at Group level.

In addition, Mallplaza, one of the Group’s business units that participates in the process in the Real Estate category, was included for the sixth consecutive year in the Chile and Mila indexes, and was the only company in the category to be listed in these indexes this year.

“At Grupo Falabella we will continue to make progress in transparency, excellence in ESG management and the adoption of best practices, reaffirming our commitment to economic growth that generates a positive impact on people, communities and the environment,” concluded Bertoglia.
